That's it for 2.Liga soccer for Julian de Guzman, at least for his current club Jahn Regensburg. His club failed to score against Union Berlin. Regensburg, the last of the league, failed to win for the tenth game in a row and remarkably, they had only won one game out of the last 23. Union Berlin's goal was scored by Torsten Mattuschuka in the 63rd minute. The goal was a penalty after Baris Özbek fouled Tim Erfen in the box.
The 30 year old De Guzman played the entire game, took a shot on goal and tried to deliver some long balls and free kicks. It's clearly not his fault that his team isn't performing well enough to stay in the league. It remains to be seen if De Guzman will fancy playing in 3. Liga, or if he will try to a find a club that better reflects his ambitions and skill set.
